Seriously awful and agonizing thing I want to watch: Amy of Amy’s Baking Company on Judge Judy.

Another semester is in the bag. I passed statistics by the skin of my teeth. And I’ve registered for fall classes. If all goes according to plan, I’ll be graduating this time next year. Yay!

People being angry about ~dem gays~ on Target’s Facebook.

I just want to give my two cents on this and tell you a story.

A couple weeks ago, I was hired at Target. I have a job at Target. Not a big deal right?

It is a big deal because i’m a transman

It doesn’t take a genius to conclude that it’s hard for me, my brothers, and sisters to get a job. There are legal restraints regarding the job and if you don’t pass, it’s hard to be taken seriously at a job interview.

Right on the application, it asks what your preferred name is. It also asks if there is anything that target should know. I put the fact that I am a transman, expecting not to get a call because usually when you put that down, people will throw out the application. I got TWO interviews.

At the interview, they asked me about it. I told them I am on hormones and they told me that they didn’t care. Not in the sense that they don’t emotionally care, but that it didn’t matter. I was male and that’s all that mattered. They also told me that they give sex same couples benefits in states that do not recognize them as a married couple.

At my job orientation, I was not misgendered once. Even my supervisors who weren’t sure of my gender avoided pronoun use, which I found only happens when you’ve had pronoun training. They gave me a name tag with my preferred name and didn’t ask questions. I felt safe and respected, which is huge for a trans* person.

TLDR: Target is amazing not just for the LGB, but also the T. Shop there for the rest of your life.

Brb, shopping at Target

I work at Target. This weekend, a gay couple came in to return some duplicate gifts from their wedding registry. I felt so proud, and so happy, that I work at a store that would allow them to do so without batting an eye. I was thrilled that they felt comfortable enough to do business with us, and that my co-workers didn’t seem to think anything of it.

The particular store I work at has one of the most diverse groups of people I’ve ever seen in a workplace, and diversity training is a big part of the culture. It’s also been named one of the best places for LGBT people to work.

It’s an awesome place, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

Well, aren’t they motherfucking assholes…

I don’t really care for this brand, but is there any proof behind these accusations? : /

This is what I pulled up with 5 minutes on Google, so…

May the company collapse under the weight of it’s own bigoted stupidity and the world be free of yet one more piece of shit brands that’s run by people who think they’re better than everyone else.

I feel like people ought to buy as much as they can and immediately donate it or alter it to fit larger sizes. That seems like a more productive way to stick it to this disrespectful and clearly deluded CEO.

HYPERBOLE AND A HALF HAS BEEN RESURRECTED, in case you didn’t already know.and this latest post is about depression - a common theme here at “me making comics dot tumblr”. thought that was pertinent.

Gosh, I’ve missed Hyperbole and a Half…

This description of depression is so accurate it’s scary. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to articulate how it feels to be depressed, but I think I’ll point people to this post if I’m ever in that position again.
